What a colossal book! Amazing. A comprehensive book on the amphibians and reptiles of Nepal. Wonder when we will ever be able to do something similar for India. Get it if you are a serious herpetologist and can afford it!

Originally written by J. C. Daniel on reptiles only, the book has now been updated and includes some common amphibians. A good book for beginners.

Covers all the known amphibians at the time. Dated, but still useful compilation.

India-A Lifescape. Amphibians of Peninsular India (2005). R. J. Ranjit Daniels, Indian Academy of Sciences, Universities Press.
Well written, informative book for amphibians of peninsular India. Though dated, its affordable and a good book for both beginners and scientists in south India.
