Conservation and livelihood programs in the Himalaya

Titli Trust believes that incentivizing nature conservation by providing an alternate livelihood such as nature-linked and responsible tourism, focused on lesser known fauna, is crucial to involving local communities to save its rich floral and faunal biodiversity. Titli Trust actively supports community-based nature tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Assam in NE India. In Uttarakhand, Titli Trust has worked with communities at Devalsari, Pawalgarh, Munsiari, Gangotri, Rathuwadhab and Jhilmil Jheel supporting nature-linked livelihoods. It has supported nature guide training and homestay programs across the Himalaya, building capacity of rural communities.
