Bio Diversity Documentation

Titli Trust has been actively documenting biodiversity across the Himalayan region — including Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, and Meghalaya — with a focus on birds, butterflies, moths, and herpetofauna. Through these efforts, Sanjay Sondhi and his co-authors have described three new species (one frog and two moths) and recorded more than 40 species of butterflies and moths as new to India. These discoveries contribute valuable knowledge to India’s natural history and highlight the rich yet understudied biodiversity of the Himalaya.

Titli Trust’s biodiversity documentation in the Himalaya has added considerable new knowledge to science across varied taxa.
